Insignificant

sorenbarrett

A piece of dust in an ocean of sand a drop in an endless sea
A spark glows then darkens when not fanned, lost in ash debris
An atom in a universe of stars, a photon on the sun
A microbe on mars a lottery ticket won
one clapping, one echoing voice to rejoice in an encore demand
Alone I stand, nothing aside the grand
How small must one be to not exist in reality

🀯 Wow. I mean, I am not going to even add anything to this other than. Wow. 🀯 Seriously deep, with the kind of reflection that causes goosebumps to rise as one gets lost in the cosmos of profundity. Seriously, a beautifully done reflection and a fave. πŸŒΉπŸ‘

A powerful poem, Insignificant. I know this feeling very well - it's a feeling that you don't belong in this universe, also projected by others onto you. It's a feeling of being a ghost and shame. The poem "Insignificant" explores themes of existentialism and the feeling of insignificance in the vastness of the universe. It reflects on the smallness of individual existence in comparison to the grand scale of nature and the cosmos. The poet explores notions of identity, worth, and the search for meaning in a world that often makes one feel insignificant. The poet seeks to provoke thought and introspection regarding one's identity and the human condition, encouraging readers to reflect on their own significance in a seemingly indifferent universe.

This is powerful in its simplicity. It captures the feeling of being small in a vast universe with striking, thoughtful imagery. Nicely done πŸ‘

A lottery ticket win for some becomes ALL the universe to them. Especially if KP wins and shares none with me. Boohoo! lol.

It's impossible to be small enough " to not exist in reality." All one must do is accept reality to become a part of it. Those were my thoughts after reading your poem. It's beautiful piece of poetry. I loved it.

So true it is in reality of other's view or even our own philosophically but psychologically one may feel that they do not exist and from their point of view does this not make it their reality? I don't know for sure. So appreciate your view of this and your support and encouragement. Thank you my friend.

                                      Hello Soren,

Deeper into the circle of reality to nothingness and beyond nothingness whatever and wherever that is. It's most likely where you asked the question, ... to not exist in reality. Perhaps, no matter how small there is always something smaller. I'm going to leave it at that because this could drive this old bard mad, that being said, another mind boggling, powerful and excellent poem from your bureau.

Wishing you all the very best,

                                      Tony.

We all exist in reality no matter how insignificant we appear to be.

even if alone, man alone has the capacity to make an impact, and a small significant change by his existence...no one is insignificant, not even the smallest being - each has its own niche and part to play in the universe - so stand up and be counted - you may feel you are small in the grand scheme of things - yes we are small - but we do have a purpose which we were born to fulfill
