Notice of absence from Poetic Licence
Now is the time.
Now is the time.
Giant Lobster.
They gathered, they talked they just couldn't believe.
It was the biggest lobster anyone did see.
No, I thought then it became very clear to me.
It was an Englishman on holiday by the sea.
Burnt to a frisk everywhere except the ankles.
Being English he was wearing white socks and sandals.

You British wear socks with sandals?! I ignorantly believed Washington state held the corner on that strange phenomenon. No kidding! Lobster indeed, thanks to the eye in the sky. Beautifully rendered with gorgeous imagery and a very haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
Yep straight up if you go anywhere hot in europe, Englishman of a certain age always wear them, always giving the locals a laugh, have Fun
Wow. Mebbe I shoulda moved to WA to accommodate my foolish desires to live in Great Britain? Funny thought.
Dude go to Disney World in the summer!
It's refreshing to hear bad fashion can be found in other places as well
AI or not? There's a smidgin of ambiguity in your comments, Tobani. Anyway, as a "Mad dogs and Englishmen" theme it definitely passes muster.
Thank you
Fun words Tobani, I am English and NEVER wear socks with sandals. LOL
Andy

As a Bonafide Englishman I can Honestly say I've never worn Sandals and Socks in a Hot Climate; Duffle Coat and a Woolly Hat yes but no Sandals.
