Pushed and shoved from dark to light now we fight against day and night
From the womb we're tore washed up on a foreign shore left naked to explore
Never asking to be here, now huddled in fear, we wait for our hour to disappear

Soren get out of this body !
There is only one way to do that and I'm not quite ready yet. Thanks for the read my friend.
I was referring to Sören Kirkegaard !
I think he already did. lol
Incredibly powerful, makes me think of all the good people who just want a chance at life. Wonderful theme my dear sorrenbarret 🌹
Thanks so much Teddy for the read and kind words that always make the day go easier. Hope to see you back soon
You could have easily been referring to a child in Gaza, the first thing to come to mind after reading this. A powerfully wrought verse, to express so much with so few words and to capture the minds, souls and hearts of many a poet. A superb passage of poetry, my friend, truly.
Wishing you all the very best,
Tony.
Thank you Tony In a way we are all that child in Gaza to greater or lesser degree. None of us asked to be here but caught in a free fall some land more lightly in the waters of fortune others on the rocks. Your words of support and encouragement are most helpful. The best to you as well my friend
A very poignant and touching write, of the suffering some people are going through today, infront of what we laughingly call the civilised world, nicely expressed and written
Thank you Tobani for the read and understanding your words of support mean a great deal to me.
You are very welcome
A fine write, SB. Stays brilliantly shy of the specific. I can just plug it in anywhere.
Thank you Jerry for your review and kind words they are most appreciated
This poem, "No choice," revolves around the existential struggle of human life, emphasizing the feeling of being thrust into existence without consent. The poet touches upon themes of helplessness, fear, and the inevitability of death. The imagery of being "torn from the womb" and "washed up on a foreign shore" highlights feelings of dislocation and vulnerability in the face of life's uncertainties. This reflects my feelings when contemplating my own experiences of being thrust into a world that often feels alien and overwhelming.
Thank you Friendship for your review and most understanding interpretation it is most appreciated

Thank you Priya for your read and words of support they are deeply appreciated. Yes over the hour of our coming and that of our leaving we have no say unless we take it into our own hands god forbid.
You are right.
You are most welcome
Wow, in just a few lines you've managed to shake every layer of this world with a disturbing statement. Crazy, I really enjoyed it. I'll read it again and again. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Andy
Thanks for reading Andy and yes that is all that really counts.
Interesting...the poem seems to show mankind's ever constant fierce struggle moving between both life and death. Fantastic! 😉
I appreciate 'the sheer rawness'...; and, also, the sense of totally unrelenting 'pressure'...
