"we meet again, mid-sentence"
beauty
isn’t
verdict
it moves
—slow
—sudden
one eye
sees chorus
another
hears
a bell
we meet
in the middle
called it
human
no greetings
no apologies
just
the sentence
already
burning
silence
held
the shape
we
stepped
in

Cryptic your poems are growing deeper or maybe my mind is getting older, or possibly I am just noticing things that got past me before. This poem speaks to me of judgements made, of beauty in the eye of the beholder, of our taking human form and biased by that shape we hold. I am rambling on and yet the meanings keep coming. It becomes frightening to swim in waters where you can not see bottom. What lies beneath undetected haunts the mind.
I used to not be bothered by depth or proximity and now it bothers me no end. Perhaps this Don Quixote is relinquishing their jousting lance.
I think sometimes the aspects of beauty do come slowly; the more we see, the more we appreciate, and in the silence of understanding, the more beautiful it becomes. This is what your lovely poem conjures for me, and I love delving into it. Thank you!
Thank you Bella dear, that is heartwarming to read. Most appreciated ποΈππ»
Another superbly strong piece, my friend. Sparse, sharp, and human...it carries weight well beyond its brevity. Well crafted, Rik. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦π¦ββ¬
Thanks Tittu, the autobiographical parts lay intercalated and blended with the fictive, a suitable admixture, wouldnβt it be agreeable πποΈππ»
Indeed. π Very agreeable! Loved it! Most welcome, my dear friend!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Rik.

True Andy; and thatβs part of the title of a companion piece!ποΈππ»
Sometimes a lot is said in such simple way.
Good one.
Thanks Kevin, that most certainly means a lot. ποΈππ»
