Glimpses

sorenbarrett

Oh frozen blackness, we are freed by a burst of warming light
How soon the sun sets taking us back to night
Oh beautiful ray of day, how quickly your flight
How bitter the taste of darkness holding us in its bite
Unloosen your bonds of pitch and tar that seal our eyes tight
And peel away skin of night revealing day in glory bright

This poem captures the fleeting dance between light and darkness, where each moment of brightness feels precious and temporary. I was struck by how vividly you gave both forces agency; the night binding, the day breaking free. It left me with a quiet yearning for the next burst of light. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Your poem "Glimpses" revolves around the contrast between light and darkness, symbolizing hope and despair, as well as freedom and confinement. The poet reflects on the transient nature of light (day) and the inevitability of darkness (night), suggesting a struggle for liberation from the oppressive forces of despair. The imagery evokes a yearning for enlightenment and clarity amidst the overwhelming presence of darkness.

Soren, this moves like a slow turn toward the sun. The light feels earned hereโ€ฆall the sharper for the darkness pressing in. That final image of nightโ€™s skin peeling away is a beauty, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
