I remember the times I spent
in this one fantastic cocktail bar
in Leicester Square, London
I remember the first time I went there I was only eighteen
I used to order the peach crush
on the arm of my own glorious crush
a guy I was so in love with it hurt my heart
my butterflies were off the scale inside my gut
each time we'd meet and each time we'd say goodbye
alas
this love was my first
and wasn't meant
for the duration of time
however
after thirty years
I don't regret a single moment
because it taught me everything about love
I actually had a heart full of it
and I couldn't wait to finally
try it out...
under a real sunset.

Young love, memories and learning from it the process of growing and the nostalgia it brings. Nicely written Teddy
Thank you my dear sorrenbarret, it made me who I am today, no regrets only lessons worth it all. ๐น
You are most welcome my friend
A nostalgic trip down memory lane, remembering the first time the heart was made to dance, as with most of us it doesn't last but as the write says, it shows you that you have a heart full of love and are ready to share it, enjoyed the read
I was 17 and it felt so good, I learnt a lot in a short time, it helped me understand myself, I'll always be grateful for that. Thank you dear P.L very kind of you. I changed the art it seems more fitting now. ๐น
You are very welcome, it's closed down now, I've been there a few times but for the food sadly not the cocktails, enjoy the rest of your day
I know, I went in 2022 I couldn't believe what had happened to it, it was really a great place to be in the 90's ๐น

Teddy, your poem has such a tender, nostalgic glowโฆfirst love painted with all its longing and beauty, yet held without regret. The closing line has a lingering warmth to it. Beautifully shared, my friend. Always in awe. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
In truth it was the only time I've ever felt a broken heart, but I also learnt so much, I have never been one for regrets so I'm really happy to share this one. Thank you dear Tristan. ๐น
Wow! I completely understand and I am certainly glad you did. You are welcome, dearest Teddy!
Hello, Teddy,
What a lovely tale of love, a sunset, too, and washed down with a peach crush. What more can a poet ask for. Love can be delicious.
Wishing you all the very best,
Tony.
