Top Drawer

Teddy.15

I have this one particular
top drawer
sitting in my living room
I swear, it must be magic
because it's always full
full to the brim with crap and I don't know where
it comes from?
and every time I empty it
of its incredibly, unnecessary, extraordinary, uselessness

out of thin air
It refills itself

it's magic, I swear its magic.

We all have a catch-all. That place where everything we don't know what it is, where it goes, or what it's for, ends up. Could be a "drawer", a box or a chest. I think folks are going to relate to your poem. It's human nature to save things.... In case. Now I must go, to empty that box I keep next to the workbench. Enjoyed this. - Phil A.

Thank you dear Phil, if yours is magic too, it will be filled again in no time 🤔 🤣 🌹

Well itsnt that so familier to all, every house has one and usually when we can't find something it will appear in that draw at some stage. A lovely humourous observation, enjoyed the read

A great image. I think I have its brother. How those drawers fill is beyond me. Loved it

This is called, top drawer syndrome.
People tell me, Lord Lucan is in such a drawer, though in checking mine I failed to find him, but I did find others.
Why does this drawer exist anyway.

              • Teddy.15

it exists to annoy us. 🤣 Lovely to see you Paul. 🌹

We all have that drawer in our home Teddy and are amazed at what can be in them. LOL

                    • Teddy.15

I know you well enough to imagine what may be in yours dear Andy, even project sheets for a bowls tournament 🤣 and definitely marbles... 🌹 thank you dear Andy.

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

I have several "drawers" that way. I know of the magic you speak! 🤣 Great metaphor that also works very well literally too! Wonderful job, dearest Teddy. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                      • Teddy.15

Seven, oh my goodness I would literally leave ... 🤣

                        • Tristan Robert Lange

🤣 Thankfully not literal ones, just the metaphorical kind...which makes leaving difficult, barring an out of body experience! 🤣

                          Dear, Teddy,

What's magical as well, anytime I can't find something, it's the first place where I look but it's never there, everything else is but the lost item. A magical drawer indeed, in so many ways. A well sorted verse.

                          All is well, I trust,

                          Tony.

A magical drawer my dear friend Tony, love what you have said, humbled always. Thank you dear Tony 🌹
