Armadillo interesting fellow, tough shell inside quite mellow
Armored from head to toe, when threatened they curl up you know
With sharp claws on their paws with squinty eyes they don't look too good
Dig holes like moles, almost blind, thought you understood
Like to eat ants, can jump in a dance, identical quadruplets from one egg
Runs like wind with snaggle teeth grinned, doesn't stay long enough to beg
Some people eat their meat but chagas and leprosy they carry
Not a very friendly fellow to greet on the street , preferring life in solitary

Wat a creative invention is the Armadillo I've always been fascinated by them, we don't have them here though. A wonderful piece and a learning curve too, yuck who would ever want to eat one? ๐คฃ Brilliantly described in poetic form ๐น
Thank you Teddy for your kind words. I have a few running around my grounds digging holes everywhere. Had to put a fence around the garden to keep them from rooting up the vegetables, nd yes people eat everything.
They eat trippa here which is a very florentine dish but I don't ๐น
I know very well what it is and have eaten it. It was okay but falls just below liver and above kidney in my taste
Yes, I've tried it too, I like to try traditional foods but trippa I could never get to like.

This armoured text reminds me of our good old fellow Ankylosaurus !
Kind of a miniature version. Thanks for the read and comment Lovenz
Good write SB.
Thanks Orchi it is most appreciated
You pay tribute to one of my favorite animals, believe it or not. We have them in our neighborhood, and I actually had one bump into my ankle on an early morning walk, hence the poor eyesight. I love your fascinating description in lyrical, rhyming verse, truly enjoyed!
Thank you Bella your words of encouragement are most uplifting and appreciated
Chagas and leprosy, oh my! ๐๐๐ป
Thank you Cryptic for the read and comment. Yes they don't all have it and living where you do not likely you will have to worry. Touch alone may be enough.
No touchy! That's quite scary. ๐ฑ๐๐
Haha, Sorenโฆyou had me smiling with this one. Tough shell, snaggle-tooth grin, dancing jumpsโฆyouโve turned the armadillo into a full-blown character. Fun and vivid! ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ
Thanks so much Tristan for your review and kind words of support. It is appreciated

Thanks so much Tom I appreciate you read and support
You seem to have got them off to a T .. I must confess, I always wanted one .. and I ended up learning a lot here today .. ๐๐
Extremely shy not sure how they would handle being a pet and they need a borough so out of sight a lot of the time then consider the leprosy and chagas, better outside. thanks so much Neville for the read and support.
Iโve been told of armadillo on the half shell on a campfire. Never tried it and I donโt think I will..
