They are all over the place,
Those antique shops,
But I do not go in them
As at my age they may sell me.
I said this to my Mary
And she replied,
“They couldn’t afford you.”
What a wonderful thing to say,
Proving the strength of our love.

- Comment from author about the poem: I said this as a joke to Mary but when she replied with "They couldn't afford you" I thought this was such a beautiful thing to hear.

Yes, we are quite old, you and I - millions of years old! lol. If we got to Antiques Shows, do they think we are exhibits?
Very true Orchi, thank you.
A joke where an unexpected incongruity or incompatible combination evokes laughter becomes an expression of love when responded to with an unexpected twist that reverses the meaning of the first statement. This requires a quick wit and deep perception as well. Lovely Andy
