Tune: Lux Benigna
('Lead, kindly light')
*********
Sun glimmers through dark clouds unto our sight
Though not yet night
Seeking to o'ercome light, but sun not gone
It still has shone
In our oppressions, trials, and troubles we
Still Christ the Light of the world we may see
Hold to that sight, the light shall still be there
In it we share
Darkness shall not triumph, for Christ for sure
Has gone before
He is the Way, and for us makes a way
That leads unto life and eternal day
Bright beams break through, and the dark clouds dispel
All shall be well
Sorrows turn to joy, peaceful be the dawn
Of Christ-light morn[ing]
Shines ever brighter to the perfect day
When Christ to His Rapture calls us to stay

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 10.4.10.4.10.10. Based on a scene seen, where the sun was sandwiched between two large horizontal bands of dark clouds and peeked through, with an atmospheric feeling to the scene.

You are back in the swing of it Orchi I liked this one it speaks of the sun a hymn to the sun the first god of man much later worshiped and Atum Ra by the Egyptians where the Israelites spent a bit of their time. It is so coincidental that sun and son in English make the association easy. Another good write my friend.
Thanks SB. They would be naughty Israelites if they worshipped Atum Ra - idolatry!
There were a few of those Moses found out with the golden calf
It's said the only one not happy in the story of the prodigal son/forgiving father was the fatted calf. Oh dear!
This is me on a Monday morning, sandwiched between dark clouds, praying for the sun.
Wonder if I was stolen from a hot country.
Thank you P. So this is you literally, and metaphorically too maybe? There's a lot of metaphoring going on in poems. And also, why is 'abbreviation' such a long word? (an old joke there!).
Hey this is a bit special - does Fido like it?
Thank you M. Yes, Fido likes it. Now he wants walkies - preferably in the sun! lol.
Beautiful hymn-poem my friend. I'd put on some sunscreen, but turns out it is a bottle of glug glug spinach cream. Damn it Popeye! 🤣
Thank you T. Lol. Dang it, how did P substitute spinach cream for sun cream? How does he pass the 'verify' and get on here? I'm sure he's not fully human.
A fine song, Orchi.
Thank you J.
Good write O! 🕊️🙏
Thank you A.
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
