Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in responses. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

Feeling run down, fed up and well in a rut,
struggling for inspiration,
I hadn’t written anything for days
or was it weeks? Months maybe?
I was losing track of time
and of myself.
I was overthinking about all the
wrong things.
My head hurt with it all.
Maybe I need a change,
a new direction,
a fresh start.
Was this a mid-life crisis?
Should I try a new hobby?
Maybe I should listen to
modern music and go raving,
or buy a leather jacket and
the motorbike to go with it.
On the way to my dull nine-to-five
I stop at the traffic lights.
When I notice the bumper sticker
on the car in front I gasp.
It seems to be a personal message
meant only for me.
Next to the image of a skeletal hand
are two words…
Stay weird!

Each of us in our own way are weird some more than others and I guess in their eyes we are weird as well. A most interesting word for being different as we all are one from another. A fun read Tom
That is exactly it, Soren. I saw the sticker saying Stay Weird and thought, right you are! Thanks so much for your comments. Really appreciated.
Most welcome Tom
Once upon a time you got out there and observed the world, Tom. Observation of the sticker is a start.๐
Cheers, Dave. Really appreciated, mate.
Perhaps we should form a bikie type group and be like the old road hogs. ๐๏ธ๐
Yeah, we should definitely form a biker gang, after all, each branch is called a Chapter. ๐
You know what they say happens, don'tcha .. well it happens mate .. and the older you get, the more often it happens .. Gotcha & message received loud n clear .. write on buddy .. Neville ๐๐
Thanks so much for your comments, Neville. Really appreciate the support, mate. Cheers, Tom.
I dry up at times. Didn't write much for about 6 months once. I rarely post repeats though. You staying weird there?! lol.
If you can, maybe practice one poem per day, or say, 2 or 3 poems a week., or even one week. They need not all have, e.g. 5,743 stanzas but can be short!
Thanks so much for the advice, Orchi. Will keep that in mind. Cheers, Tom.
Tom, this is honest and quietly powerfulโฆthe kind of true story that reminds us how small signs can save us from disappearing into ourselves. Love this. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
Thanks so much, Tristan. Really appreciated.
You are most welcome, Tom!
Weird can be good Tom and bring you new thoughts and ways of life.
Andy
Oh yes, I always think weird is good. If I'm watching a film or reading a book that's really weird, for me that's a positive. I love those films where you have no idea what's going on until the very end, and not always then. Thanks for your comments, Andy. Really appreciated.
Superb work, Tom. Keep writing.
Thanks so much, my friend. Really appreciate your comments. Cheers, Tom.
'Stay Weird ' yes good advice. Don't all want to be like Sheep. All Art and Music etc would be the same without the Individual.
Good Write.
That was exactly the meaning I took from it! Thanks a lot for your comments, mate.
Thatโs the way to live sometimes as long you enjoy yourself and are not hurting anyone ๐cheers
Thanks a lot for your comments. Really appreciated.
most welcome..have a good day
If you take up the private personal challenge to write one fresh poem every single day for a year straight, no absences, you may well discover how ready at hand inspiration is. [Hint, hint] Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much, Missy. Really appreciated. And thanks for the tip. I might give that a try in the new year. Cheers, Tom.
