Interruption.

Doggerel Dave

“Hello”

“What? Who? It was so quiet and peaceful here…”

“Yes – but you don’t stay there.”

“Well who are you then?’

“Reallocation - to move you on.    Now, did that last twenty years of retirement suit?”

“Made up for the first twenty years of my life”

“Good – now let’s move you on. Want to go back?”

‘Where?”

“To the blue planet..”

“No! If you are giving me choice, then definitely no, it’s all aggravation there… pain, wars, killing…”

“Yes – noted vast increases in reallocation demand from time to time…”

“And so – where to now?’

“Have just the spot for you – Not in this galaxy, not even in this universe, but another, not far away. Small planet, quiet. No aggression, no reproduction via genders and sex, so you don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

“Seems a little hard to understand”

“Try it - You’ll like it… and well if by any odd chance you don’t, we still have all of Infinity and Eternity to work with…”

Dave, this is thoughtful and gently profound. The conversational ease contrasts so sharply with the weight of leaving, choice, and cosmic rest…it makes the poem feel both intimate and vast. Before you go quiet for a bit (if indeed that is what your comment is saying), I wanted you to know I took up your "Mango" nudge and wrote that poem. It’ll be appearing soon (possibly tomorrow), and I hope you catch it when you do drift back through. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks Tristan. Not going anywhere for a wee while... but it definitely has to be on the horizon. Not too sure of the 'mango' reference, but I await tomorrow with anticipation...

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Lol! Tomorrow it is! As for the reference, go back to my comment on your poem Trumped. You will then remember! 😉 See you tomorrow, Dave!

        • Doggerel Dave

Got you now, Tristan - hard to wait. But please remember.... with care...paranoia?...perhaps...

PS: Bowen mangoes, Australia's premier mango, is going to feel slightly out of sorts over this, I think.....

          • Tristan Robert Lange

I should imagine so...but they sound delicious!

          • sorenbarrett

It would be nice if we had a choice and although it doesn't sound that bad ya never know till you get there. Try it you might like it they say. A salesman's ploy that I am always suspicious of. But then I have always been a suspicious fellow. Good one Dave

Clever words Dave, I wouldn't go back if I was on th4e 'Planet of my Dreams'.

            • Doggerel Dave

Have to find out what it was like for myself, Andy - but I was pretty much convinced. Thanks for the read.

              Good write D.

              • Doggerel Dave

Question for you, orchi: Is Reallocation Agent really your God moving incognito and in not very mysterious ways?

                • orchidee

I dunno! Erm, it's a 'mystery' at times. heehee.

                  • Doggerel Dave

Is that 'heehee' a cosmic laugh, perchance?

                    • orchidee

'Heehee' is rather like 'teehee' which sounds a little mischievous, but may not be the same laugh as 'lol'. And why I am I talking NS (non sequitur) rubbish here? lol.

Are you coping? Don't want to see you go into irretrievable decline, you are too valuable round here. You are like the mortar which keeps the bricks together.

                      • Paul Bell

Yes, you will just love the new place, they shoot and kill you with love.
Now, getting to Britain. Do you want the deluxe dinghy, the super deluxe, or wait for it, the super, super deluxe dinghy with four-star hotel thrown in.
Ok, cancel that, they've found water on Mars. Can i interest you in the deluxe villa village........

                        • Doggerel Dave

You appear to vote very much for the dominant paradigm here, Paul. Carking it and all that may imply, seem very much placed on the proverbial back burner for more 'worldly'' pleasures...... No hurry? Ah, the spritely steps of youth.....
