SIMPLY EXPLAINED
Tired of sitting on the shelf
God sent his son, who is also himself,
to save the people that he had created
as told in the Bible so clearly stated
within the scriptures included therein.
and being aware that people would sin
he enacted a plan of his own creation
of resurrection and man’s salvation
so he offered his body – that’s quite a price
to pay to give blood in sacrifice.
Ah that makes it clear I must avow
I kinda think I get it now!

Good write M. I'm not thinking of an initial vow of accepting salvation here, but I'm thinking of making general vows. It's said 'Better not to vow at all, than to vow and then not keep to the vow'.
Or even in a non-religious or non-Christian sense, we may say to someone as a sort of vow: 'I will do this or that for you', and then not do it, and so let them down.
Just so xx
Miss Berles make any vows?! lol.
You have summed it up pretty well Michael the whole idea of humans needing a sacrifice in order to go to that better place. Well done
A fun write which, as an atheist, came to me easily - well no - that's not entirely true - the idea was simple but putting it into a poetic form took loads of revisits and tweaks before I thought it worthy of posting.
I have seen the pattern since young of different religions and the sacrifice archetype that runs through them all from the sun gods requiring blood for good crops to the bull of Mithra, the Greek gods and the Christ. Very nicely done Michael
lol oh yes 🤣 🌹 Mr Edwards always the creator of fabulous lines. 🌹
You're too kind but pleased you like it.
Michael, this made me smile, my friend. The light touch works, and the sincerity underneath never gets lost. After all, God gave us humor. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Christianity, like all organised religions are just a farce Michael.
