My soul, wait upon God only
For my expectation be
From Him, He only my rock true
And gives to me strength anew
He my rock and my salvation
And too for every nation
He my defence, I shall not be
Moved, but remain steadfastly
In God is my salvation, He
Too in life my glory be
The rock of my strength, my refuge
Is in God, no subterfuge
Trust in Him at all times, people
Pour out your hearts, on Him call
For God a refuge to us is
Comfort, consolation this

Orchi, at this rate you’re going to have the entire Psalter stuffed into hymn meters and smuggled into the next edition of the hymnal. Some unsuspecting organist is going to announce, “Let’s sing number 847,” and half the congregation will have no idea they’ve wandered into Psalm 61 according to Saint Orchi of the Perpetual Meter. 🤣 All jokes aside, beautiful work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
