Top Players In The Country

Two days of croquet,

Croquet the game that I love,

But I was not playing.

It was a national competition

Where players from many counties

Played against each other.

Each result came to me

And onto the computer they went,

That was my job in the tournament,

But I also watched the games.

The top players from the country

Showed me how different the game was

When the best in the country played,

I was amazed at what they could do.

But the finest time was the camaraderie,

The camaraderie between them all.

Yes the games were serious

But between them laughter could be seen.

Such a wonderful game

And such a great weekend for me,

Watching and learning,

Learning from the top players,

The top players in the country.
