Jabberwocky

My poems are

in rhyme and meter

If you have a wife

I'd like to meet her.

If you have a daughter

even better,

I'll wait here while you

Go and get her.

If there's a sister

Then I'm sold,

As long as she

Is not too old.

If you have a niece

That's quite cool,

So long as she's

Not still at school.

If you have a cousin

that'll do,

Better though

If you have two.

I know you think

I'm only kidding

We'll test that

If you do my bidding.

I'm not nice,

Yes that's true,

But I have charm

Enough for two,

And modesty;

Not my thing.

I have a song

Of self to sing.

I'd meet them each

Without rejection

And have them all

Without protection.

Just think on how

Pleased you'll be,

When you have kin

Who look like me!

This poem speaks in poetic jest of why one has to guard the nest. When my daughters began to date I insisted on meeting each boy sat them down and told them clearly that I was depending on them and their maturity to have my daughter back on time and protect her while out. When their future husbands came to propose again sat them down and warned them first that they could not afford their tastes but if they chose to try they had to support them well and if I ever heard they had hurt them in any way no one would ever find their body. Worked out well

Good for you. We worry about our daughter's because we've known too many men, and of course we ourselves might not always have been...as good as we should have bern.
My oldest daughter has a great guy. I couldn't have chosen better if I'd auditioned hundreds. My youngest is a young sixteen, but she's very strong willed and I pity any guy who tries to take advantage (she's a chip off the old block!). I think I wrote a poem about that.

Thanks. I'm not so bad in real life....though I do have 5 children.

Jabberwocky, this is outrageously cheeky. The confidence just keeps escalating until it becomes its own punchline...bold, shameless, and very funny, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks Tristan. I thought twice before posting but I thought I could get away with it...lol, story of my life!

Good fun write Gary but it's bad enough to have a son that looks like me. LOL

I bet you're a good looking guy. My two daughters look like me.. though that works for them. My three sons look like their mum's... that works for them too. Luckily two attractive smart women were distracted enough to pair with me!
