Dad's Birthday.

Goldfinch60

Thirty one years ago,

Thirty one years ago today

My Dad left my life,

The man that I have become,

I see him so often in me.

So not only has my love for music,

And love for nature,

Come from this person,

I am changing into him,

I am becoming my Dad,

He taught me respect,

Respect to all

That he had in him all his life,

A man I had always admired.

A gentle man,

And a gentleman.

We enjoyed our time together

Never any acrimony

But he passed this day

So many years ago.

I know he will be there

Waiting for me to come to him.

I will be with him one day

And together we can sit,

Sit and listen to music,

Listen to and listen with a pint in our hands.
