He came to me in a sweet dream
whilst he was very much alive
his soul was kind and happy and full of love
I found this strange because I did know this soul
to be less than kind to me in life
yet within nights shadow he was different
I felt an overwhelming sense
and reassurance that he loved me
he wanted to say sorry
something he could never say to anyone whilst awake
I've known many people like him
but never have they visited my dream
awaken I did, with a heart full of love and gratitude
the next time I saw him
I gave him the warmest hug that I could
I don't know if he had the very same dream of us?
because he hugged me back just a tight
we didn't speak, somehow we were connected through the dream
now he's gone from life and I've spent much time with my grief
dwelling on our encounter…
hoping he may visit me again someday in nights’ shadows.

A special someone made more special by a dreams encounter and true life follow through. The poem is dreamy and wistful although it speaks of grief implying death. It walks in darkness but reveals light. Nicely done Teddy
