THE WEARY ANGEL

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Snow it slowly melted
About the angels feet
The loneliness of life
In so many failed to keep
A longing, deepest longing
Just before hope dies
Dry your tears lonely angel
Wipe those marbled eyes.

Lifes troubled people
Need your blessing
Your gentle guidance
As more snow falls
From the forlorn
And forsaken
They need to
Hear your call.

Try to open
Heavy wings
That eternity
Has weighed down
Passing centuries
Turn as leaves
In Winters echo
And its sound.

The hubbub of the crowd drowned out the angels' call...

Norman in reading this my mind goes to the cemetery where stone and masonry angels stand guard. It is winter and snow falls but melts in metaphorical tears pooling about the feet. What place lonelier than a grave yard where hope has died. In the next stanza there is a call for help for the living. I do not think it was the intended meaning but in my mind the last stanza offers peace in death the taking of the living to eternal rest. So as I see it this is the answer. A fave my friend.

Caretakers also undergo wear and tear, suffering exhaustion and being burdened by time. Hope all is well your way, friend. 🙏🏻🕊️

    A fine write N.
Even angels get tired waiting for that bus! lol. Do they just fly off in the end? Saves them bus fares. lol.

Damn, Norman...I felt this one. Sometimes the people everyone looks to for strength are quietly exhausted themselves. Powerful poem, my friiend.🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Angels are all around us Norman but sometimes they are disguised as humans that help others.
