Where Did The Cardamon Go
Now on my looking back,
I can see us both
looking forward and up ..
Perhaps toward
our uncertain yet still,
compelling futures,
albeit often and through
half-closed eyes but
always smiling though
and of course, invariably
smelling of freedom,
fresh spun cotton and cloves ..

My response to your welcome visit may well be late isa k .. but & it is a big BUT .. I seriously am most grateful to you for it .. Neville
A message well sent when spices are new their fragrance is savory and as they age it dampens. I can still smell the Cardamon at times but often leaves with the holidays. Good to hear from you again my friend.
Its kind of you and kinda good to be back too .. Ta & very muchly .. Neville
My pleasure
Neva tried cardamon before, had to ask me AI. Sounds good, think I might give it a go...
Appreciated, but I insist on a full report .. Until then, cheers .. Neville
On the shopping list now.
(from your exchange to arqios below - didn't know you sniffed it...)
Memory does seem sensory before it is an articulated awareness; often being rebuilt by surviving sensory cues and fragments.
Ah' yes the rebuilding from fragments is the key .. and not to be sniffed at .. Thank you .. Neville
Good write N. Who is Cardamon? lol. Note from Fido to me: Do shut up Orchi. lol.
I'm with the pooch ..
One heck of a poem, Neville...warm, wistful, and just a little painful. Great job on this, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
That is really very kind Tristan .. I'll take it my friend .. Neville 🖤🐦⬛🐈⬛⚫🖤🥀🏴
Fine words Neville but sometimes the cardamon can reappear.
Andy
Cheers Andy, I guess nothing is impossible .. maybe .. Neville
A supposedly particular Swedish spice, cinnamon rolls are the better with that in their dough. Too much third shift and lack of sleep leave me unable to decipher what on earth cardamon had to do with the relationship? Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
No worries CM .. it's the turning up that matters .. the cardamon took a hike .. Neville 😎👍
