SWINDLER'S LIST
Here is something that cost a couple of Quid,
No it's really quite true for I never do Kid.
I entered a Competition based on terrible Puns,
So sent in Ten for a little Fun.
But when I looked at the Winners today on line,
To see if a joke was a Groan of mine;
There were many on the Website all Successful Bids:
But did I make the listing?
No Pun in Ten did.
I'VE FOUND WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: TWO BEERS
For Wetting the Whistle being the Ultimate Aim,
A bring you a story with a touch of fame.
The Edge and Bono walk into a Bar;
For it's thirsty Work when you're a Touring Star,
And the Barman did say: 'Not you two again'.

There you go. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a charming poignancy. Thank you for sharing. I do love a dry sense of humor.
That's me : Mr Sahara. Thank you for Reading and sending a Comment.
Thank you for the fave.
Ono (or two or three) good turn deserves another, so here's a golden oldie to add to your collection:

Pinned here before you had even glimpsed MPS on the horizon.
I must emphasise it is not mine, came to me in the rough when I polished it.
'Hope you enjoy.
A real Groaner if there ever was one.
But did the Bear get it's drink?
Thank you for Reading.
Those are worth a fave to start the day with a smile being slow I had to read the first one twice.
Yes some are like that. Thank you for Reading.
Thanks for the fave.
You are most welcome my friend
Thereβs a damn cheerful groan-factor running through this, with the deliberate capitalization and relentless punning making the poem feel like itβs having as much fun with language as it is with the failed competition. βNo Pun in Ten didβ is the killer line for me, because itβs exactly the kind of gloriously terrible wordplay the poem has been building toward, and the Edge-and-Bono pub story keeps that same wonderfully daft spirit going.
Thank you for your Reply and Reading.
evin, two more puns lobbed straight at the forehead...and both landed. I hate that I enjoyed them this much. π πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
Thank you. And for the fave.
Hello, Kevin,
Ther's no stopping you - hilarious, I'm sure Bono and the Edge would agree and as for, Swindler's List, ten out of ten. Excellent!
Fond regards,
Tony.
