We live for now---it's all we see....
And this we call "Reality";
"So live it up while you are here"
For what comes next is still unclear:
Some talk of things they cannot see,
They speak of what? Eternity;
And here the theories do abound,
It's varied what men will propound....
Most say you have to work your way,
It's very hard to reach that day,
And "He's a cruel one metes it out....
----"If you're REAL good"....is what they tout.
But who is sure IF aught comes next?
Just live for NOW and try your best
To satisfy that inner need.....
(To not feel bad).....a few good deeds
Could do the trick.....some claim it works;
Yet deep within the feeling lurks?
There's stricter ways to live this life.....
Or find a group that keeps you high;
Or better yet! Cast off such things!
When such thoughts come....just have a drink!
Or find someone to laugh it off,
If you feel bad for sins they'll scoff....
And tell you it is not your fault....
Whate'er you've done somebody's caused;
And if the feeling still persists?
We've got a better one....try this!.....
There's NO SUCH thing as right or wrong!
Have you been trying too hard for long?!
What of the things you're sure were bad?
What's "right" or "wrong" is ev'ry man's
Own problem to decide....your life
Is in YOUR hands, so what is right
Or wrong comes from within yourself....
Just follow that.....you'll not see hell!
So "live it up while you are here"
And let not heart nor God cause fear....
Unless, of course, God's Word is Truth.....
What then, my friends, of me and you???
