I am Blushing

Cheeky Missy

(sonnet attempt # VI)

VI

Been thinking of you, I do now confess.....
It's naughty to do, I know it is true;
And yet my heart whispers "He likes you too...."
And I cannot tell you 'tis so,...unless
It really is true and not just a guess.
Because if it is you'll tell me.....how soon?
That what my heart whispers IS true of you,
And we together wish love to express.
And so while I know I can't outright say,
('Tis forward, shameful, e'er to tell you so)
These lines in my mind did form, which all see----
What you'd know if you looked deep in my face:
My answer too, I'd easily know---
If I might be what I now dream.....reveal'd.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Okay, so let's see,......I think I succeeded at Petrarch's model of 1221,1221,345,345, right? But it is still lacking any depth and symbolism, so that I fall too far short of the mark.....next try I'll attempt to incorporate symbolism......

      Thanks, alot for understanding....so have thus said it so openly as the speaker does in the sonnet, though, is naughty enough to make a deep blush.
