When You Meet Someone New

bluebell

Have you ever made
fun of the way people
walk, what they say,
or how they talk?

Have you ever laughed
at another's hair,
or because someone
else was square?

Have you ever stared
at another's feet,
at what some wear,
or what people eat?

Have you ever laughed
at another fellow
because of the way
he eats jello?

If you have your not
nice you see, you should
care, it could be you
that gets that stare.

Everyone is special
including you
in what we say
or what we do.

So next tiem you
meet someone new,
rememember their special
just like you.

That is a good charitable exhortation, and I have also discovered that once I get to know folk I initially unkindly despised, I end up loving them for the people they are.

A great message on tolerance. We all form opinions of people- within three seconds of seeing them, actually-but to have respect for them is the right way to go about it.
