(sonnet attempt # XI)
XI
We're playing on the edge of a fire pit
As if so heedless of the flames quite near;
The heat we barely feel nor do it fear
As dancing gaily we're beguiled by it.
They warned us not to play with matches lit,
But we are having too much fun right here.....
We think ourselves quite wise enough, sincere
In all our cautions midst our games, outwit
The possibility of injury now...
Ecstatic, promising to play "for keeps",
Eyes shining brightly from the dancing flames,
Its roaring fills our ears and all else drowns,
As on its fringes cavorting now we leap.....
Our hearts engaged so hotly in this game.

Absolutely Snowflake, Absolutely! Excellent sonnet.
Thanks so very much, Romeo...take my hand, say "Jenny kissed me!" and never let me go?
