Repentant Musings....Mercy?!

Cheeky Missy

(sonnet attempt # XIV)

I don't deserve forgiveness and mercy.
I want back what I knew was not so good....
And if You'll hear, restore it if You could.
My conscience does condemn my getting these,
And yet in chastisement receive my pleas,
For not just all You took, but if You should
Return all as I ask, You also would
Then keep me back from falling I beg Thee.
I would be good but vain I try and fail....
I say of sins, "Oh, it's nothing at all.....
I won't find trouble..."....then yet here I am,
In chastisement, my sins I now bewail,
And cry for what I don't deserve, forestall
My doom, and save me now, nor do me damn.
