The First Touch Between Lovers

dbremner

The hand trembles

And time stands still

As lovers make their first

Sweet, tender, caring touches

For them alone

A shared moment

A time decreed somewhere

One that neither will forget

Their hearts will merge

By way of this

Through sudden grasp of hand

And the fusion of soft lips

A luscious kiss

Strong, warm embrace

Has the world stopped turning?

For them - well it may just have

This is THEIR time

It's theirs alone

We can just bear witness

And smile at the joy they feel

For before this

Embrace and kiss

They had within their hearts

Already touched each other.
