Existence

Dolphine29

Seems to be nothing is left for me

I’m just here by myself

Hoping to be loved

Or will I just give up

The worse comes from inside

Or just strays from human kind

I’m just hoping to feel rays of hope

They held the answer I seek

Solitary soul

Wash your tears

Love comes fulfilling

The desire to exist

My own life becomes full

And so forth to be extinguished

As the illusion of existence

Becomes real

The picture is so perfect......existence finds its substance in the heart of someone else? If nobody cares, then we are nothing? I guess when I struggle with such thoughts I contemplate ceasing to exist. And thus love is the reason to exist? We exist because we ARE loved and because we do love? I enjoyed contemplating this....finding it intriguing, and am unsure I made sense of it. But I liked it.

Thank you for your nice words :), I was feeling really sad about something that day.

I feel like that sometimes. I think your poem is excellently written and the picture is hard to look away from. Your closing lines however remind me of the Sartre quote 'Existence preceeds essence' which I have, for a while, thought of as a very powerful concept for humans to try and comprehend. It was a concept he laid out in a number of his books...well you probably know that. I hope you keep writing more poems.

Hey !!!!! Good evening and your comments deeply apreciated. I have to say, that I have just started to write poetry. It's like flashes of inspiration, that comes in very unusual places. I carry a very small notebook everywhere just to be prepared. Jean-Paul Sartre, well I will definatly read about him; to be honest I have never read any of his work, but I'm curious and intrigued and also I want to thank you for being able to remind you of him through my poem; I feel honored, he was a great philosopher.
I wish to an amazing poet a great weekend.
        Bye
        Dolphine

If you do decide to read Sartre try Nausea or La Nausee (if you speak French) as a start as it is a great novel and lays out all his ideas quite clearly. I read it as an English translation as I'd need to learn French way beyond my rather limited schoolboy French to read it in the original! It would be great to know what you thought of it if you did read some Sartre.
