All around me
All very suddenly
All I see
Are lives crumbling
Souls tumbling
Into empty despair
Weeping with the rain
Trying to keep sane
To soap away the pain
Crying out in vain
Such is the struggle
Watch them fall
Hear them call
For a single hope
A way to cope
With all their sorrows
Suffering to each and every day
Searching for another way
Yet for all they say
All the demons kept at bay
All the debts left to pay
I find I'm still okay

- Comment from author about the poem: In a sea of suffering peoples, why are some spared the grief and pain of the others? It doesn't seem just. ..Like a rainbow in the midst of a storm, caught between lightning and thunder, but altogether above, beyond, outside of it..

The perpetual question....you captured it nicely in your concluding line, and your explanation made it more understandable. It is rather difficult to answer, to assess. On the one hand, if we look at the Bible, it looks like the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer, and yet some wicked suffer too....Your concluding line seems rather to indicate the speaker has a solace, a refuge above the turmoil, rather like the Lord says, in this world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world...peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you,....let not your heart be troubled, neither let it not be afraid...or maybe not? Excellent...I enjoyed this.
Thank you so much. I really value your opinion.
