Goodbye, dear chalkboard of my youth.
For many years thou hadst much use;
For lack thereof we cast thee off----
Do we thy further use thus scoff?
Nay, but since thou hast useless lain,
We wisely must give thee away;
That others of thee may make use.
With this fond hope I bid "Adieu."

- Comment from author about the poem: So maybe I'm a packrat, or maybe, whatever, but I didn't have a place to put the old blackboard/chalkboard from our childhood schooldays....ah the memories! And "they" urging me to give it away....I reluctantly yielded, but not w/out a fond apologetic adieu...on the chalkboard, no less!

Really very good and lightsome.
Thank you very much! It's one of those happily prosperous impromptus.
