Can You?

StormyDay

Can you see it in my eyes?
Can you taste it on your tongue?
Can you hear it in my words?
Can you smell it on the wind?
Can you?
I do.

Can you picture it in your head?
Can you sense it within?
Can you feel it in your heart?
Can you hold it in your hand?
Can you?
I do.

I see it in your eyes.
I taste it on your tongue.
I hear it in your words.
I smell it on the wind.
I do.
Can you?

I picture it in my head.
I sense it within.
I feel it in my heart.
I hold it in my hand.
I do.
Can you?

I suppose not.

Hmm. La, and now I shall sound stupid...what is being experienced? For I thought you were tasting and experiencing "love" and if he is not, then how can you? Too bad it concluded on the low note...but the title of course, paved the way for such a disappointment. I like the way you wrote it...makes the point effectively, narrowing the stanzas down to the essential point of the questions and your answer. You captured the sentiment nicely with your questions. Excellent!

Thanks a lot. The experience of loving without it being returned, or the illusion of being loved also--I think that was I was trying to convey.
