Control
-by MVB
Decisions and questions and doubting and tests
You put them in balance and hope for the best
You judge and decide like bestowed by your God
The power to rule others’ lives as you prod
Mistrust, inquisitions, suspicions, disgust
The boundaries have vanished in your quest to bust
Regardless of feelings, regardless of pain
You keep thrusting hard to destroy and to rein
You are all that matters in your little world
The others aside better step overwhelmed
There’s nothing to hinder the power you seek
For all that it counts is your ego, your trip
No one is allowed to support and to help
You think you alone have the answers in hand
And hurt that you do is collateral damage
The others take cover, at war you want carnage
Control never lasts, control excludes love
Control only pains and it hurts as it’s shoved
Control makes you selfish and bitter and blue
Control just awakes ugly demons in you.

"Control Freaks." La, but you described the ugly character so delightfully rythmically, it was a pleasure to read, in spite of the chilling, conclusive condemning description. I hope I never fall into those shoes, for you've denounced them so excellently. I love your concluding stanza....such a fitting warning against falling into this temptation to screw oneself screwing others. Excellent!!! I enjoyed this!
Thank you kindly.
