Deeper and Deeper

Emi

Deprived and neglected;

Why must I depend

On 11:11 wishes,

Hopes and pretend

Imaginary friends;

The only ones to notice

My frequent tears

Or the eyes that cry them

Mascara stained face

Sorrow stained heart

The soul that threatens

To fall apart

Time and time again

I shout, I cry, I yell

Insignificant to the world

That does not acknowledge me

Falling deeper and deeper

Into a pit of despair

Perhaps this was meant for me

But does anyone really care?

    Excellent depiction of a selfish and thereby miserable character! What does 11:11 signify? You aptly described a lonely, depressed condition. The disturbing and fascinating fact is that this applies to so very many people. Very well done! I enjoyed how well you expressed it.

      Thank you! 🙂 I'm not really sure where else this is used, but where I'm from, supposedly if you make a wish at 11:11, it will come true. It doesn't work, obviously, but it's always nice to try anyways. 🙂

        I see. Thanks very much for explaining...and ya, I know only too well what you mean about trying anyway...but we should avoid such superstitious practices, seriously.
