No
torture
of the mind
will set you free
change is inevitable and will come.
You who hesitate to participate
will ride the tide
as the waves
rush to
shore.

Fascinating! I like how you ordered the stanzas to taper....fascinating effect while contemplating this tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's platitude. I enjoyed this!
Thank you. I know this ordering of the stanzas as "tetractys"... a poem of only five lines. Each line has one more syllable until the last stanza, which has ten syllables.
Interestingly it forms an equilateral triangle. In adding one more verse, I invert the syllable count. Google 'tetractys' for more info.
Wow. Thank you very much for explaining...I am learning new things all the time in this hobby of poetry....I don't like the religious aspect wikipedia gave it, so am hesitant to try it myself; then again, that may not be necessarily connected. Either way, great to be introduced to this form! Thanks again for explaining!
Change is inevitable. You who hesitate to participate will lose. This is is the essence of your poem. The Indira you mentioned And I belong to the same state ANdhra Pradesh, in India.I know her.She is a professor of english.I hope you read my poems,
