Drowning

Drowning
-by MVB

The water’s rising, too tired to swim
I see my love, deep in the sea
I want to live, I want to love
I want them both, the choice is hard

How do I breathe and still get close
To save my love from certain loss
What do I do, what do I give
I choose to love, or choose to live?

Leave love behind, only to live
A life of sorrow with no reprieve?
Or I choose love and leave behind
The life I have to give my heart?

I’m going deeper, I’m sinking hard
A closer look, I don’t see love
And I know now love’s in my heart
But it’s too late to turn around

Oooh. I like it. You are losing yourself, drowning in love, as it were, falling hopelessly in love, to lose the life you knew and find it in love, right? Fascinating! Rather delightful contemplation.
