Dreaming

reiha

The cold grabbed my arms

The snow danced about me

The icicles twinkled and laughed

But the trees remained silent

Guardians of this peace

The wind sliced through the air

Snowflakes scattered

The bright colored panes

Of my lost wonderland

Crashed around me

Ragged rocks towered above me

Wings formed of granite

Precious gems sparkled

The eyes of the beast

Teeth of white washed coral

Waves of nostalgia

Sweet ignorance

My world ended

This beautiful nothing

This imperfect everything

Your voice clear as the sky

Falling down into the sun

Through this bright darkness

Where nothing and everything met

I cried as you reached out to me

I grabbed for your hand

So impossibly out of reach

Not a dream but a nightmare

This angel turned demon

Blood ran over my body

My skin was ripped away

Left naked and alone

Exposed for what I was

Your backs turned on me

My heart left yours

I passed into oblivion

And ran in the darkness

You walked away from me

No longer caring

If I lived alone

Or died as nothing

I grabbed for your hand and you turned

Casting me into shadow

Cursing the day

That I stole your heart

And the day you stole mine

I withered

Like a rose whose days were spent

No longer anything

I am reborn

Wings of ash sewn into my back

The shattered glass pieces of my heart

Picked up and put back together

Fragile..

What is fragile..?

What is love…?

A curse

A blessing

I don’t know anymore

But all I know is that this sweet nightmare

This cursed dream

Is not reality

As I wake screaming by your side

And you pull me close whispering

I love you

I love this! I felt my heart racing faster during the middle - it was so well written. And the end made me sigh - so sweet! 🙂
