Then and Now

[email protected]

Remember the yesteryears we had?

When together we use to held hand?

When I use to say “I love you”?

Because then and now I really do.

Remember the time we had our first talk?

When I couldn’t find the right words to start?

When I said the words “I like you”?

Because then and now I still do.

Remember when we venture the love together?

When our hearts full of joy and laughter?

When no one can stop us, “The romantic duo”?

Because then and now I kept those memories of you.

Remember the moment I first touch your hand?

When I’m shaking like the wind blowing the sand?

When I kneeled down and said “I want to be with you”?

Because then and now I treasure those words for you.

Remember one time when we had a fight?

When I am a stupid fools and arrogant?

I wish I could erase it from the memories of you.

Because then and now I regret those hurtful things that I do.

Remember when together we said “Goodbye”?

When not even a single smile is left behind?

When our tears disappear into the blue?

Because then and now I suffer the pain that I’ve given you.

Remember and recall the moment we had

Because even if you found someone to fill you heart

I’m proud and certain of something I have

That I will always Love you more than he could ever give.

Wow. This is such a beautifully sweet poem of earnest love, tinged with bittersweetness at the miserable loss. I quite enjoyed the repeated affirmation of the speaker's enduring, increasing love, with the varied incidents refreshing it. It's such a sweet poem of heartache/heartbreak. I love it.
