I had longed for a sister
For so many a year.
But was glad at the length that
She never appeared.
For I found in my mother
A much better friend yet,
Than I think any sister
Could ever now have been.
She knows most of my secrets,
We giggle, reminisce;
She tells the right way to go...
The bestest friend there is!
We share outfits and tease too
I think she's so pretty;
Our mutual admiration,
Makes fun society....
Trade stories of our childhoods
And e'en though she's my mom
It's somehow like we're just friends
Counseling and so on.
Loves me more than I do her
(I'm sure 'cause she's nicest.)
That's cause she's Mom, friend ever,
Too sweet, so fun, greatest!
See, sisters are just sisters.
And friends are only friends.
But what He gave me in my mother
Surpasses all the rest.

oh... That was a cute poem.
Aw, thank you very much! It does read rather roughly, here it is unpolished. Someday I really should edit the lack of flow. Thanks again very much!
Yes Cheeky, mother is the best friend one can ever have, only if they are given a chance. Problem with today's youth is they tend to be closer to their peers. It is so true "sisters are just sisters. And friends are only friends." mothers are always the best....SMILE! THE DAY IS GOD'S NEW GIFT!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. It is a merciful blessing that my mother is my best friend; I don't deserve it, and I sure am thankful for her!
