Hopeless

QueenZ Lia Hall

What do you do when your life seems hopeless?

And you battle your mind and body to the point you are always restless.

The weight of the world is constantly on your shoulders,

But you don’t have the strength to move these boulders.

You give up everything to bring ones around you comfort,

But your sacrifice for others only brings you discomfort.

Everything you feel you bottle up inside,

But the hurt is too much that the anger makes you cry.

You feel alone like you are against the world,

But all of the pains, sickness, hurt are constant emotions that are twirled.

To only find out that your own life is at stake,

To endure these pains every day and torturous ache.

You think the ones you have been there for,

Would come back to your side and love you a little bit more.

I always feel like I’m always alone,

But I am always there and never cast a stone.

I am always selfless when it comes to the ones I Love,

But I’m so weak, and wish someone for once could give me a shove.

I wonder what it would be like when I am no longer here,

Maybe you will remember the times I asked for help, by whispering in your ear.

Nice structure Queen. The content is a little disconcerting though. There's a lot of raw, painful honesty bottled up in this piece. Is this a cry for help?

Disconcerting? How so? I have endured alot of things in my life that I have bottled up. This is an expression of my thoughts and feelings that I needed to get out. But thank you for your concern. xoxo

WELCOME LIA - THANKS FOR SHARIN' YOUR THOUGHTS ! Beautifully structured poem - a single stanza overflowing with rhyme & rhythm - I love rhyming couplets. i'm 33 now and things have mellowed a bit although I'm still not married ! Your thought echo mine when I was a bit younger (18 - 25) when I had to absorb all the angst and help my friends to sort out their lives ! I'm an encourager and my experience is that as I get older my friends settle down more and I get a bit of time and space to myself. Hope things get better for you too ! Yours - BRIAN

Thank you Brian. I am 34. Thank you for your encouraging words. I usually bottle up everything and I don't express my thoughts, but I found that expressing my feelings through poetry and I find it comforting so far. I battle with depression, so I have a lot of ups and downs. xoxo
