Second glance

SilverXball

I cannot fool myself

Every day, I'm okay

But I'm not

I'm decaying slowly

Starting from the core

The center,the heart

Getting betrayed

But running back

And embracing the pain

Welcoming it back

Like an old friend

I'm not okay like I pretend to be

But don't give me a second glance

It's okay

Don't worry, or I'll consume you too

Look away, pretend I'm okay

Like I do,ever so often

Just one extra glance

I'll indulge until it hurts

See? I'm okay

If I look at you,

Don't look at me

There's nothing here

Not for you, nor anyone

sh, don't speak to me

I'll feed till it burns

You won't hear me

Pass me by

Don't listen

I'm the hidden siren

Pass me by

For I am hiding

Pretending I'm okay

But don't let me hear you sing

Or you'll be lost In the misery

Nicely presented Fable ~ SILVER _ thanks for sharing. I would give you a "second glance" because you're worth it. Yours BRIAN

I am afraid only today I gave a first glance at your poems.
They are decent, with good rhythm but dealing with similar themes?!
    Autobiographical? Keep writing..
