The Sun Is Out

kilos505

things aren’t as bad as they used to be.
i feel less pain now and days, i don’t flinch when the sun is on my skin.
things aren’t as bad as they used to be, but its still colder than ever.
its a numbness that eats at me, i don’t feel sad, i’m not sad.
i swear i’m not sad anymore. i don’t feel anything.
i’ve created somewhat of a complex situation,
he asks me if i can feel him the way he feels me..
i don’t feel anything, but i still tell him i do because even though lying isn’t an
emotion, its something.
he says he’s never met someone like me,
with icy cold fingertips but a warm inviting body.
under a million blankets I’m still freezing.

WELCOME KILOS ~ Thanks for a challenging and personal first poem. I can empathise my extremities (fingers and toes !) are often cold when everyone else is complaining about the heat. My favorite place is snuggling down in a big warm bed. It seems to me it is "medical condition" some have ~ that they feel cold even when it's hot. Temperatures in South UK at the moment are 25+ as high as 35C (that is 77F to 95F) I still want my Pyjamas and lots of blankets my Lady wants just a slip and no blankets ! Thanks for sharing ~ more poems please ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
