Losing Myself

Noel

I can't walk down these halls.

I can't see your friends.

I can't be reminded of you.

I can't hear your favorite song.

I can't be alright now.

I can cry.

I can break like the fragility of a stain glass window.

I can break into a plethora of shards.

I can still bleed.

I can feel you here.

Your scent still lingers on my linens.

Your scent like jack and lavender.

Your scent stains my clothing.

Your scent is all I have left of you.

Your scent brings me lamentation and peace.

I never want to wake, because I wouldn't find you near.

I never want to shower, because I don't want to wash away the memory of you.

I never want to eat, because I only know how to cook for two.

I never want to read, because you aren't here to distract me.

I never want to write, because you aren't here to be my inspiration.

What I'll miss the most is your eyes.

I could look into your deep sea green eyes

and see the universal love that

this world has lost ... We were so lost.

I am so lost.

Stained glass indeed is fragile. I like the 'plethora of shards'. A lot of hurt.
