GATEAU GATEAU  ~ SWEET BLACK FOREST GATEAU

A DESSERT ~ nice to eat after lunch in my Chateau  

TASTES  so divine ~ just like Cherry Wine

EATING  this Gateau's a passion of mine

A REAL calorie treat ~ is this Gateau to eat

UNLESS I eat Gateau my day's incomplete !

  • Comment from author about the poem: I posted this poem because in the course of a conversation an American friend of mine asked "What's a GATEAU". When I explained what a "Black Forest Gateau" was they said Oh we call that BLACK CHERRY CAKE ! It does not sound as sexy ! Perhaps we should all have to call it ~ by the very evocative ~ SCHWARTZWALDERKIRSCHTORTE ! Also the German version has to contain at least one glass of KIRSCH (Cherry Liqueur) so is much more enjoyable ! Yours BRIAN

      Thanks for your encouraging reply CHRISTINA (I love you new Pen Name !) ~ If you've never had it you will love it ! Perhaps BLACK CHERRY CAKE will be on the APPLEBEES'S Menu next time you go ~ I will have a word with the President (Steve Layt) when I'm in Kansas City ! If you purchase on from Wallmart you can freeze it ~ but remember to defrost before serving ! Heavenly Hugs BRIAN
