Snowman

Christina8

The snowman we made is gone

Most of it stretching across the lawn

Between the ice and the rain

Took away the snow again

But there's plenty more to be had

It snows a lot of days like mad

And then we drive in it too!

That can become quite the zoo

Winter won't be here long

before we hear the robins song

It won't be that long a wait

Till springtime memories we can appreciate

Great sentiments and to think : the days will start getting shorter (here in the UK at least) in only five months time.

Thanks CHRISTINA for a very elegant poem replete with rhyme and rhythm ! I love the subject but in the last few years ~ in Southern England ~ we have hardly had enough snow for a SNOWMAN. You are more fortunate but your poem celebrates both the transience of the snow and the wonderful SNOWMEN it generates. Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN.

Thanks Brian, for your encouragement! We can make snowman most days. Today we'd have to put the head and arms back on, we got frozen rain. I appreciate your kind review!
