Asking.
Then as the knots of love
we tightened,
earth underneath us and
above us the sky,
we lay down to prove, in
matured twilight,
coupling's ripened delight
you and I.
Then we had to lose life's
much loved tie
with you beneath earth and
me asking why.

Thanks for sharing FAY ~ Elegant structure ~ but such a sad Subject. There is no answer to the question why one person ~ in a loving relationship is taken and the other left. Talking to the bereaved ~ those most able to cope say their strength (to go on) is in their Happy Memories and No Regrets. I figure that that is how it is with you ~ Every Blessing ~ BRIAN
Thank you dear Brian for your caring comment - - so true that happy memories can hold you aloft from the waters of sorrow. - I wrote this short verse just after the loss of someone held dear - but your thought of living without regrets is so very comforting - thank you indeed for this comment.
What a beautiful read. These words can truly touch any heart.
Very sweet remembrance and poignant question. I am sorry these kinds of questions ever have to be asked. Nicely done Fay.
Grateful thanks for the perceptive comment on that poignant question my friend. No answers to that one but one day I am sure we will understand.
🙂
Beautiful poem! So sad to lose a love or friend and then to be left asking why. Great job!-Christina
Thank you for your expressive and caring comment Christina.
Beautifully done. Elegant style. Sorry for your loss. Hugs.
Knot of love is tightened and emotion has flown from true heart. Proving this in twilight above sky is mesmerizing. Very beautifully penned love poem this is and this is interesting one.
Thank you for your perceptive comment Pintu my friend - I tried, in this short poem, to express how sudden loss of love to death often raises the question "Why" -
A great reflective poem Fay! You had been the leading poet of that disbanded Swedish poetry site - 'Poetfreak.com' for the last 6 years now! Though I had met you earlier in 'Poemhunter.com' initially. This site will benefit from your postings no doubt! God bless! - Raj, New Delhi, 24th Jan 2017
fay you have truly touched my heart ~ the ending stuns and leaves one pondering why. lovely, beautiful words .
Yes dear friend we are lead to question why when a loved one has been so suddenly taken. Much appreciated your perceptive comment Jane.
