The Stars

Christina K

You stand under the stars

and you look up at them,

marvelling in their beauty,

taking in all their wonder.

They look down at you too,

and they wonder why you were created.

They see beauty in you too,

a different kind, though.

They see hope twinkle in your eyes

and they see how loved you are.

And they're confused.

You don't look as beautiful as them.

You do not shine as brightly as they do.

You are imperfect, and they are not.

But when you look away from those stars,

they don't look away from you.

We only give ourselves seconds

to marvel at their wonder,

but it takes them centuries

to wonder why we were made.

And that is a question

not even we can answer.

Mystical, contemplative - whatever a good read.

Thanks for sharing CHRIS ~ A beautiful poem which poses an interesting question ! W are all an integral part of the whole Universe. And a universal pan~Universal Philosophy would suggest that when we look at the Stars each Star is affected by our gaze just as we are affected by the star. Because the distance is so vast we will never know how much affected the star was ~ but probably to the same extent as you were moved by the Star ~ OK Thanks for caring ~ Yours BRIAN
