Flowers

I got some lilies for Valentines Day

but I think they are about to die,

The Calla looks unhappy and

So does the Stargazer, but why?

 

I cannot keep even a hardy

houseplant alive, this is sad but true

I over water it or not enough

Same goes for sunlight too

 

No, I was not gifted with a green thumb

Cut flowers are the way to go

In beautiful arrangements

Then give them the old heave-ho

 

I think garden flowers are

the most fun to keep and enjoy

They tend to fare better too

But those garden weeds really annoy!

    i have a green thumb and love flowers i have a garden but sadly i fail to have enough free time to keep it properly weeded

      Thanks for sharing CHRIS and caring ~ about FLOWERS ! I too am OK with garden flowers (and veggies) and I like to help my Mom in the Garden ! We have Ornamental Gardens at the flats ~ which we pay a ground rent for but we don't have to plant them or weed them ! I have some indoor plants and I like cacti 'cos you can't tell if they are dead or alive or plastic ! Roses are my absolute favorite. I find all living Flowers have a mind of their own ~ some you win and some you lose ~ OK ~ Floral Hugs ~ BRIAN

          I have a large orchid which is now in it's fourth year and with the exception of a four week spell in November last hasn't been out of bloom since the day we got it, it currently has 7 large purple flowers. trouble is we're actually getting a bit fed up with it and would like to replace with a lighter coloured one !! Great poem - made me smile.

            Nice job Christina. I kind of like house plants. But, they do take a lot of care. Cut flowers are better.
