Scramble

The torn edges of hope

Slipping past

The sounds

Of shredding paper

And there with those tattered edges

Doodles dwindle in the margin

Evidence of day dreams

Forgotten for now

As the question

Begs to be answered

About how the economic hardship

Can be shared

The burden lifted

How can we

reduce the damage

Minimize the pollution

Of production

Feed the hungry

Spare the animals

Restore the earth

Without sacrificing

Productivity

Efficiency

Scrambling to answer

As the audit comes

To show no progress

Has been made
