Maybe Tomorrow

pcannon167

I should write Momma – Maybe tomorrow.
I should call Momma – Maybe tomorrow.
I should tell Momma that I love her – Maybe tomorrow.
I should rekindle my relationship with Momma. Maybe tomorrow.

I should ask Momma – Maybe tomorrow.

I should go see Momma – You Know What?... Maybe tomorrow.

I should tell Momma all the wonderful things that I learned from her, attain all the wisdom that she may offer, as well as exchange apologies and forgiveness.

Today she is no longer of this world.

Only if I could have done so yesterday.

No More “Maybe Tomorrow”…

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem for my Mom over a year ago. She was terminally ill and diagnosed with dementia. She passed away in early February 2017. This was the poem that I used for her memorial service. Though I considered otherwise, most everyone that I talked to highly suggested that I use it. Once heard, most people really appreciated it and recommended that I publish it.
