I yearn to sail before the wind
Ere my skin is pale, my blood is thin;
My ship to ride far above the tide,
Adrift in cloud-bright glowing wide,
To weigh anchor round glory's bend.

I'm there with the salt wind in my face - super stuff.
Thanks Michael.
I have sailed on a 24 foot, full-keel sailboat. There is nothing like the freedom of being on the ocean, in great weather, of course. Great work Augustus. I am wishing for Summer!
Great comment.
Yes, this is beautiful...I yearn to sail in my Puerto Rico with its clear blue Caribbean Sea... enjoyed it.
Thanks a bunch.

To the lonely sea and the sky "
Good write and may the wind be in your sails and the sea remain calm.
This week it's choppy, the hull is all barnacled, the keel may be cracked, there's water in the bilge and the pump gave out. Heh, heh.But I haven't given up hope. Thanks for the comment.
I hope you get your wish to sail! Very nice poem.--Christina

On my way to the tattoo parlor Sir!
Thought that photo might have been of the "Eagle." U.S. Coast Guard training ship, but I see now it's not, it's the Sea Cloud II. Nice poem about the call of the sea. It is in some people's blood it seems, and they will do anything to be upon it. Nice write. - Phil A.
Yes, I tried to find a photo of a ship in the clouds. I settled on this one that was a beauty. Thanks.
